Márquez + Bagnaia: Ducati to keep MotoGP’s power duo together
Jimmy Martínez, the manager of Álex Márquez, has revealed what many fans hoped to hear: Ducati looks set to retain its two biggest stars — Marc Márquez and Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia — in the factory team for 2026.
Speaking to Cadena SER, Martínez shared his insider view of the rider market:
“What I see clearly is that Pecco will stay at Ducati. I don’t think there’s any doubt. And I also believe they’ll keep Marc Márquez. Ducati wants the strongest rider lineup — and that means keeping Pecco and Marc together.”
🔴 The Strongest Lineup on the Grid
Bagnaia, a two-time world champion and Ducati’s golden boy, has proven his value over the past seasons. Márquez, after years of injury and struggle, is back in competitive form and showing promising pace on the Desmosedici.
According to Martínez, this combination is unbeatable:
“Jorge Martín is doing great, but Pecco and Marc bring experience and championships. No other team can match that.”
⚠️ Jorge Martín Left Out?
Despite Martín’s stellar form, Ducati appears to be leaning toward keeping its champions. Martínez was clear:
“You don’t replace a two-time world champion without a very serious reason.”
🧠 Ducati’s Strategy
This move reflects Ducati’s long-term plan: experience + adaptability + star power. Márquez has adapted well to the bike and Bagnaia remains a consistent title contender. Together, they form MotoGP’s most formidable duo.
